POWER ELECTRONICS ENGINEER
Control Concepts, Inc. is the North American leader of Silicon Controlled Rectifier (SCR) power controllers that regulate the flow of power to industrial loads. Specifically, we design and manufacture electronic equipment to control the flow of electrical current in resistive and inductive loads such as the heating elements in industrial furnaces and ovens. Our controllers are sold to OEMs, distributors, and end users in many diverse applications including:

This Power Electronics Engineer position is responsible for developing digital AC and DC power controllers using a mix of analog and digital design. The engineer will have the full range of responsibility from concepts to prototypes to production, including system design, thermal analysis, schematic capture, board layout, and programming. The position requires a creative circuit designer that understands linear circuits, digital control theory, AC switching mechanisms such as silicon controlled rectifiers, integrated gate bipolar transistors, variable frequency drives, and control interfaces such as USB and Ethernet; all for industrial applications.
Qualifications:
- MSEE with Power Electronics specialty or BSEE with 5+ years relevant experience
- Experience with the following a plus: Heat Transfer, IGBT's, SCR's, VFD's, Xilinx FPGA/CPLD, Ethernet, USB, Microchip dsPIC.
- Excellent problem solver
- Ability to work in a fast paced dynamic environment of an emerging growth company.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in the operations and use of Microsoft based communications.
